So you want to put a mini-movie or animation into your icon? Well, here's how you can do it in Jasc's Animation Shop.

The materials you need are an animation and a base you're going to paste it in. I've chosen this animation and base.

For your animation, if you have a large one you can resize it in Animation Shop by going to Animation > Resize or pressing Shift+S. Resize the animation to fit into the screen of your base. My screen base window is 75x69 so I simply resized the the animation to 75x74. Also, the hole in your screen needs to be transparent, so make sure it is and if it's not, make it so.

All right, now that you have everything set up, copy your base and paste it the same number of frames that exist in your animation. 20 times for 20 frames of an animation etc.

Now, select all (Ctrl+A), copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) as a new animation. It will be useful in a moment.

Go back to your animation and select all and copy. Return to your base, make sure they're all selected and then paste into selected frame (Ctrl+E). Line up your animation with the base.

Now you don't want it to stay looking like that with all those edges hanging over, so go and get the bases that you copied, select all and come back to paste them in and line them up over your animation.

Now fiddle with the frame properties to get the movie going at the speed you want it to. Then save it and you're done. Congratulations! You have a movie.
